Learning Log 5: Romeo and Juliet Performance

Throughout all the practices and meetings that my group had in total before the actual performance, i liked all of the meetings as we get to brainstorm our ideas together and it had actually made me more confident as i get to speak out all my ideas that i have during the discussions. I had a really good time with my team members as we are putting in our best effort in every of the rehersals that we had and we also worked together to finish up all the props and costumes of each of the members. But some of the members refuses to coorperate and ends up getting the stuffs assigned to them to do done wrongly. During the full-dress rehersal, some of the members did not turn up for that and i am actually quite dissapointed in that as their reasons given were not relevant and i am also afraid that they might not know what to do in the actual performance as some of the actions and positions were being changed last minute during the meetings they had missed. I really hope that they will turn up for the next literature meeting before the actual performance as it is very important for all of us and i really don't want it to be messed up. I hope that all of my team members will continue to work hard for the actual performance which is on the upcoming tuesday! i also hope that we can get really good results for the actual performance as we had really put in extra efforts for the performance! :DDD

Learning log 4: Ah Bah's money

Ah Bah's money is a play that shows us how different all the family members in the family are. In the first scene, Ah Bah stole his auntie Lam Soh's money from his purse when she is away and not paying a careful attention to him. I can tell that Ah Bah is a very careful person as he hid all his money inside a book in a corner to prevent his father from taking all of them away to use it to buy himself beer. In the next scene, i can tell that Ah Bah's mother is very generous and superstitious as she won a lot of money from gambling and thought that it must have been the help of the gods that made her won all the money. In the next scene, i can tell that Ah Bah's father is very money-minded as while he is entertaining the guests who had visited his house, he kept an careful eye on Ah Bah as he was counting all the money he had gotten from them. In the next scene, I can tell that Ah Bah is very clever as he lied to his father that all the money is being stolen by a indian man but actually his money is still being kept safely inside its usual hiding place. I can also tell that his father is a very hot-tempered person as when Ah Bah told him what happened to his money, he actually whacked his head using a roll of newspaper and scolded him instead of calming him down. In the last scene, i can tell that Ah Bah's mother is a very materialistic person as she betrayed Ah Bah's trust to her as she has taken all his money from his hiding place to go and gamble. Ah Bah's is a very careless person as he never thought that his mother would steal his money away and he trusted his mother too much. From the story, i found out that Ah Bah's mother is a very cunning person as he betrayed Ah Bah's trust by taking away all his money for gambling.

Learning log 3: Are you lonesome tonight

Are you lonesome is a play that shows us how different Elvis Presley's life is from his younger to older times. Before Elvis Presley is a huge national sensation, he was living a simple with his parents. In the scene of the play, Younger Elvis is looking out of his window in his bedroom and dreaming of owning a cadillac and thought of giving his mother a big mansion with maids and butlers serving her and with chandeliers in almost every part of their mansion. In the next scene of the play, it shows the audience of the older Elvis Presley and what kinds of problems he is facing then. In that scene, Older Elvis is feeling lonely and all of his family members and friends have all left him when he needed all of them the most except for his girlfriend, RedHead. And feeling depressed, Elvis resorts to drugs to take away the pain that he is feeling. Both of the female characters are the same as they were very caring towards Elvis Presley and they are different as the methods of caring for him is totally unsimilar.

Learning Log 2: Superstitions

The superstition in Shakespeare's time were mainly related to the Witches because when i read the notes, i found out that the people in Shakespeare's time will blame all the problems they faced on the Witches. The people of Shakespeare's time thought that the Witches worked for the devils and they also accused the Witches for harming people using their WitchCraft. I think that the people of Shakespeare's time should not bame all the problems on the Witches because they are not the ones who did harm to the surroundings and it is very unfair for them to blame all the problems they faced on the Witches.
There are alot of superstitions in the modern time regardless of religion and race and i think that the superstitions nowadays were better than the superstition is Shakespeare's time because the superstitions nowadays were not related to the Witches. If the superstitions were still related to the witches, the society is being very unfair to the witches or the woman suspected to be witches because the woman suspected to be witches will be tortured harshly if they were suspected and if they were found not guilty to be a witch, they might be died already.
I think that people nowadays think that it is alright to do not follow the superstitions in their race or religion because i had seen some people not doing appropriate things during the particular month and i think that the poeple follow their race or religion's superstitions because it's a form of respect.

Literature is a term used to describe written or spoken material. "Literature" is used to describe anything from creative writing to more technical or scientific works, but the term is most commonly used to refer to works of the creative imagination, including works of poetry, drama, fiction, and nonfiction. Literature is the art of written works. Literally translated, the word Literature means "acquaintance with letters" (as in the "arts" and "letters"). The two most basic written literary categories include both fiction and non-fiction. Literature is a form of art and it is the expression of human nature significant human experiences and Literature consists mainly of reading novels/storybooks, writing poems, understanding poetry and acting out plays written by some of the famous writers. The very term “Literature” we are reminded shifts from one century to another and many of the works made by the people of other centuries are still being appreciated by the people nowadays.
